As an Embedded FAE (gn), you contribute to that by combining hands-on implementation work with a growing role in advising customers and helping them get real value from what we build. We are currently seeking an Embedded Field Application Engineer (gn) to join Proemion and be part of the Field Application Engineering Team. The position is available immediately on a full-time basis in a hybrid working model. In return, we offer you A high degree of creative decision-making freedom and plenty of room for innovative work Autonomy, no micromanagement English-first organization Short communication channels and well accessible team leaders Work-life balance with flexible work hours and work from home option 1on1s focused on helping you grow Intensive onboarding and targeted individual training and development opportunities For onsite work: a modern and open working environment with lounges, kicker-table, pool billard table and team events, free soft drinks, coffee, cereals, and fresh fruit Childcare allowance, benefits card, and award-winning corporate health management Your Role Collaborate with customers to define, confirm, and implement objectives ("Goals") for their telematics service, following Proemion’s goal-driven collaboration approach Understand and, where useful, challenge the underlying customer requirement instead of only implementing what is asked, and grow your scope over time from implementation work towards broader technical consulting Develop application logic for telematics gateways using Proemion custom tooling and structured text in CODESYS AI-augmented development of unit tests and hardware-in-the-loop tests for the above-mentioned applications Support customers on their work on the above-mentioned tasks Support customers on the physical integration of our hardware into their series production Collect input on customer needs and compile them into good written input for decision makers and developers Your Skills You bring hands-on experience with communication network technologies and protocols used in mobile machinery, automotive, or industrial settings (e.g. CAN Bus, CANopen, J1939, UDS, OPC UA) You're comfortable working with Git and version control You've managed projects with an eye toward sustainable growth and continuous improvement You have a solid grounding in IT fundamentals You bring programming experience in IoT or embedded applications (e.g. RTOS, task scheduling, Linux, microcontrollers) You bring industry experience from mobile machinery, automotive, industrial automation, or aerospace You're well-versed in requirements engineering You communicate confidently and clearly in English, German language skills are a great bonus, but not a must. Good to have Experience with Structured Text/CODESYS and a background in the mobile working machines industry You enjoy working closely with customers and are familiar with agile methods such as SCRUM Experience with hardware-in-the-loop and software testing, as well as flashing and bootloaders A solid grasp of networking basics (TCP/IP, DHCP, routing, DNS) and an eye for information security Scripting skills in Python or a similar high-level programming language, ideally paired with experience in AI-augmented development Requirements You enjoy working autonomously with external customers and feel comfortable navigating ambiguity along the way. Rather than simply implementing what’s asked, you ask why, and you’re not afraid to push back when something doesn’t quite add up. You communicate with confidence, translating technical complexity into language that customers and colleagues alike can follow. And when new tools, methods, or ways of working come along, you’re the first to get curious rather than cautious, always ready to grow your role a little further.
